pregnancy felt like the biggest crash course. for the very first time i was intimately learning about my body, how to care for a baby and navigating everything under the umbrella of motherhood. and, when talking to other moms, I wasn’t the only one.

if the women in and around our lives are giving birth everyday, why aren’t more informative conversations happening sooner, wisdom being shared and “the village” showing up?

i decided to do something about it. eight months postpartum with my second son still clinging to me in a carrier and breastfeeding, we completed both birth and postpartum DONA [doula’s of north america] trainings, and became certified in lactation counseling [CLC].

i have been committed, from that point on, to educate, support and serve as a resource to other mothers and birthing parents and utilize my platform as an editor to discuss, share and celebrate every crazy mom moment.
